Keep the microphone a few centimetres away from your mouth (preferably above or below your mouth) to avoid ‘pop’ noises on the ‘p’ and ‘b’ words. Avoid using earbuds to record audio as the result will likely not be as clear as you’d like-instead, use a proper microphone, or a headset with a microphone that comes near your mouth.If the Speech to Text option is grayed out, you may need to install all parts of the language packs for the languages you use in Windows (see ).Here are some things I’ve discovered in my first few days of testing that may help others (no particular order): I’m recording actions in Word on my computer, not people, places, or things. How on earth is the supposed to work? There are plenty of screencasters out there.As I mentioned the other day, I’ve been testing Camtasia for creating mini Microsoft Word training and tips videos. They don't know enough about ProTools to know how to work around it. I called TechSmith (makers of Camtasia), and they said the issue is that ProTools "takes over" the system audio playback, throwing a wrench into how Camtasia 'hears' & records the system audio. I figure there HAS to be an easier solution. Seems like way too much work, and even then, I don't know if it will because I haven't tried it yet. Then I'd have to import the vocal into the Camtasia session after the fact. Since Camtasia only recognizes one input source, that source would have to be the line in on the motherboard to capture the system audio, and then I'd have to set up something like Audacity running in the background recording the USB vocal mic. The only solution I can think of is to have a 1/4" to stereo mini running from the headphone jack on the MBox to the line in on the motherboard, while I purchase and use a separate USB mic instead of using my RE20 into the 'mic in' on the MBox. I ran a test screencast, and as I was doing it, everything seemed to be working, but after I stopped recording, I watched the preview, and while there is audio of my voice coming in with the mic, there's no audio from the ProTools session. I tried setting up an RE20 into the mic-in on the mini.
I'm wanting to run Camtasia Studio for screencasting, but I can't get it to record system audio. I have a PC running Windows 7 圆4 and ProTools 9 with an MBox2 Mini. I've been in contact with and on Twitter, and told me to post here in the community, so I'm hoping you're able to help.
